Proponents may be required to submit their applications to the appropriate Regional Mine Development Review Committe (RMDRC). These regionally based multi-agency review committees are chaired by Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) representatives, usually a Regional Director, and include representatives from provincial and federal government agencies, as well as local government and First Nations representatives who are invited to participate on a project-specific basis. Members of the public may also be invited to attend meetings on a project-specific basis to make presentations and engage in discussion with committee members and proponents.
