Interest should come back soon.

It looks like the main issue here is whether or not the canadian government has a new policy of currency depreciation. Are they happy with a 85 cent dollar? what is the alternative? To raise interest rates to support the dollar and see the housing market crash?

The lower dollar helps existing manufactureres, oil firms ,resource firms and retailers along the US border. At least in the short term. I do not see what we can do to get the canadian dollar back to .95 unless the US economy softens again.
