The head of the Agency of Canada Economic Development Minister Denis Lebel will announce Thursday a major business support Orbite Aluminae . The company has several projects on the table in Haute-Gaspésie , an area heavily affected by unemployment region.
The company is building a plant to commercial production of high purity alumina in Cap -Chat . The project of a hundred million has encountered several obstacles in recent months, including the fall of the title and grant of major liquidity problems.
To solve problems and bring the project forward , the company managed in December to complement public funding of $ 16 million . Orbite has also concluded an agreement with Crede Capital Group for a binding commitment to subscribe for units of $ 40 million .
The company was also in talks with the Government of Quebec for an investment of $ 10 million . These discussions were underway in December.
The proponent intends to start production by the end of the year. The construction of the plant should be completed in the spring . Orbit said able to begin testing from two suppliers by March .
