Where I Think We AreGoldmbr - thank you for the post regarding Prosperity's Executive Director's recommendation. It is disheartening that Bennett, Clark et al are pro Prosperity when it has been determined by Dixon of the CEAA (Ottawa enviro office) that their ore body is contaminated and will produce significant adverse effects. As for booker...the gov letter addressed to booker wants clarification on the points highlighted by Sturko that led to their rejection decision. Things such as the TSF, FN opposition and 'unique sockeye.' The difference this time is that we will have a new Executive Director and new Ministers. Will they be any different? Time will tell. The positives are that this will be done quickly and we will know our destiny by the end of May at the latest. There will be no new material presented by booker nor can the gov or FN bring in new material. With all of the pro mining banter that Bennett and Clark spout off about one can logically speculate that worst case scenario they will approve with conditions. The reason I say this is because the Supreme Court quashed their decision and stated that they acted unfairly. What happened Oct 1 '12 was so unbelievably undeserved because they rejected the project without telling booker what to do in order to proceed. That in itself tells me that this was in fact a political decision and that they made a rash decision and changed their mind as proof of the whistle-blower document dated August 4th 2012 that the EAC should be granted. This gov is hypocritical and operates by the seat of their pants. It is my hope that with all of the facts in front of them, along with the Supreme Court's ruling IN ADDITION to the Province's lack of revenue and job growth that cooler heads will prevail and booker receives its EAC. Yes, I am speculating on this but I am familiar with the facts and remain cautiously optimistic that the BC gov will figure this out.
