As I have said before pink diamonds cannot be specifically targeted by diamond exploration. We find the diamondiferous kimberlites (and the barren ones -sigh) and it is LUCK if they have pink diamonds in them.
I would rather spend the 1 million on an airborne gravity survey and another drill rig.
Alternatively you could hire the 3 best explorationists in the world for two years with one million. You would hire a diamond geophysicist a mineral chemist and geologist.

Speaking of mineral chemists, the two best in the world are Herman Grutter and Bruce Wyatt. Neither of these legends -as you call them could specifically target pink diamonds. Your competition goal is science fiction, not science fact.
