The overwhelming choice on smartphones doesn't seem to stop Apple and Google from generating massive revenue. Why would smart TVs be any different? Do you know of any game consoles that are doing better than the competition because they have less choice?

At best Gametree TV will become one 'channel' among many. Any smart TV running Android or a regular TV with a Chromecast will be able to run all the Games in Google's Play Store. Apple also just needs to throw the switch on making their games run on Apple TV.
