RE:RE:RE:RE:Waterfront Capital TweetThose who don't like Apple or find $109 too much can get a Chromecast for $35. TransGaming makes you pay $5 every month for a small number of mediocre games. The popularity of playing games on Apple TV or Chromecast will probably grow very fast (due to proper marketing and word of mouth), and does threaten TNG's revenue model because it's easy to switch over. People interested in playing casual games on TVs are very likely willing to put down $35 or $109 to get access to lots of high quality well known games for their dumb TV.
Smart TVs with Android support may not even need a Chromecast so you essentially get things for free. All you need is a controller with a motion controller and touch pad or thumb control of some sort, and Smart TV manufacturers can include that as well. No need for any of TransGaming's technology to do that, as far as I kow.
TransGaming could specialize in things like hotel rooms and generate steady revenue from that, but that's just the crumbs of the pie. People can take their Chromecast with them on vacation so even this isn't without competition. TransGaming will never be the Netflix of gaming some claimed it would be, and I don't see much value in their technology for a buyout by these bigger players.
