What other low priced system of that era allowed users access to Assembly-language level control of the system, including advanced graphics/sprites handling/calling?
That system was, and remains, a Computer-Engineering work of art.
To equate such a work of art as the Commodore 64 with bad financial-modelling is just... wrong!
In fact, I would argue that machine still has some aspects and traits that are revolutionary even by today's standards, and that I find lacking in some of our modern computing platforms.
Whoever owns the rights to the Commodore brand should consider releasing a new home computing/desktop platform:
Commodore-Rebooted
in the spirit of the old, with that same attention to craftsmenship/design, that favors advanced technical users, and yet brings the system into the modern era with high speed processing.
But I digress...
