Perhaps bandwidth makes a difference.  It takes awhile for a "zoom" in type view to load varying resoutions as GE does its stupid "fly in" move, abated somewhat for my by a very very high bandwidth commercial fiber account and a workstation class machine.  If you give it time to load you should get an image good enough to see tire ruts in many views.  It doesn't hurt that I also used to look at satelitte imagery of this type in the military when views like this were something you couldn't take out of a secure room.

Starting the mine entrance in 2012 in November means the images I was viewing were taken in the summer of 2013.
