You use the best assay method as it gives the best result. Metallics assays are considered a better measure for gold than a fire assay with gravimetric finish and a fire assay with a gravimetric finish is considered better than a fire assay with an AA finish. You give precedence to the best assay over a lower quality assay - you do not average two different assay types.
