RE:RE:slow
RE:RE:slow1) There is lots of road equipment in Iqaluit and lots of heavy equipment operators. This is one thing I am going to start working on is cost estimating 150kilometres of road as I am curious too, but I can tell you it will be half as expensive as having to put a 150kilometre road anywhere else in Nunavut.
2) No need for a full on port for this project IMO. Better left to the Territorial government which will then turn to the federal government. Just means they better have a crack logistical team to ensure all the right materials gets on all the right ships at the right times so as to reduce reliance on air-freight or straight up delays.
I know the government currently in power is very optimistic and in favor of the chidliak project and our permitting process is becoming much more linear and easy to track as they legislated in time-frames for NIRB to process applications and perform assessments. Rather than having to negotiate with several aborginal organizations IE NWT you will only have to deal with the Inuit organization for the district IE Qikiqtaaluk
