Hah.
Nice try. The cause, if you care to use the Google at all, is very well known and has been affecting shellfish operations in the Pacific Northwest for the past 5 years. The culprit is increased ocean acidity which is a direct result of higher CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere being sucked up by the worlds oceans.
So ya, lets build yet another coal mine so that we can keep pumping CO2 into the atmosphere and ensure the scientists predictions that continued CO2 increases will lead to a complete comlapse of ocean resources by 2100 (or earlier... since this is already happening much faster than their most conservative estimates)
