On a side note: can one actually make money bashing a stock?

I can understand that if you are short you want to push the price down. On AAA there are no noteworthy shortpositions so that's not the case here...

Maybe you want to lower your price to buy in as cheap as possible. But than one would expect that at a given point in time a basher switches position after the accumulation is done. Here we have a couple of regulars that bash all the time...

So we have 2 remaining options:
- The basher bash because they want to prevent, for philanthropic reasons, other investors to loose money on this stock. If you believe this you don't belong on the stockmarket... 

- So that leaves me with the last option: there are companies paying for bashing stocks (nr of postings). Now the reason to do this would only to accumulate more why otherwise pay someone to bash? 

So for me, eventhough these guys clutter up the board, a bit of basher activity is actually a good sign meaning a stock is in accumulation mode.
