RE:RE:RE:RE:Interesting Article The original resource based on an open pit was roughly 15 million ounces I believe. To appease the environmentalists the company changed direction and decided to go with an underground operation which would drastically reduce their carbon footprint and impact to the surrounding enviroment. Based on the underground operation the estimated extractable resource was reduced to roughly 2.7 million ounces. I'm assuming (and please correct me if I'm wrong on this Larry) that Larry's 12 million is a low ball estimate off of the original resource estimate.
If so, I take that to mean that Larry believes there is a possibility that, depending on the government ruling, the open pit option could potentially be back on the table.
I posted a question on the board a while back as to whether or not , if the majority of Angostura ended up outside of the Paramo boundries, anyone thought there was a possibility that the original resourse could wind up back on the table via open pit. This would obviously have an epic impact on the SP, assuming a postive ruling. I didn't get any takers at the time so I'm throwing it out there again....IMO there is always a possibility but it would be a remote one at best given ongoing environmental concerns.
