News ! Visible gold. Typhoon Exploration Inc.: Gold-Bearing Quartz Vein Observed 2.7 Km East of the Fayolle Deposit (ccnm)
LAVAL, CANADA--(Marketwired - March 19, 2014) - TYPHOON EXPLORATION INC. ("Typhoon") (TSX VENTURE:TYP) Typhoon Exploration managers are pleased to report that visible gold in a quartz vein has been observed in the second drill hole FAX-14-72 of the current drilling campaign in progress (for details of 2014 drilling campaign see Press Release January 21st, 2014). The project is located within 30 km of Rouyn-Noranda and of prolific mining camp Doyon (228,000 ounces of gold, that is 1,477,000 tonnes at a grade of 4.8 g/t) / Mouska (124,000 ounces of gold, that is 255,000 tonnes at a grade of 15.1 g/t) and Westwood (3,548,000 ounces of gold, that is 10,162,000 tonnes at a grade of 10.9 g/t) which contains an inferred resource of approximately 3,900,000 ounces of gold.
So far, the main highlight of the program is the discovery of a porphyritic intrusion fractured and altered with hematite quartz and pyrite cut in drill hole FAX-14-72. Visible gold was identified at 77.8 meters along the drill hole, in a quartz-carbonate veinlet cross cutting this intrusion.
This hole is located in the new Cinco area about 2.7 km east of the Fayolle deposit that contains to date 3,573,900 tonnes at 1.6 g/t Au (188,000 ounces of gold) indicated, less than 90 meters deep under NI 43-101 (see Press release April, 9th 2013).
A previous hole, FAX-14-71, located about 200 meters eastward has intersected 10 meters of pyrite bearing brecciated veins at a vertical depth of about 100 meters.
