I agree, I have no problem being encouraged to learn the French language, however, I draw the line at encouraged.  I say it like this because I've recently taken on another IT related Federal Gov't contract, and in the last 4wks I can say for certain that this department (large one, in Ottawa) primarly has it's peons speaking French (or Franglais) first over English.  This I find disgusting - as it's quite evident that if one wants a F/T job with the Federal service, then one better be fully fluent in FRENCH as there is a BIAS leaning towards that language.  ....
