RE:RE:My personal thoughts of the election
RE:RE:My personal thoughts of the electionThis is a Orbite forum here but since few people like to make Quebec bashing here because ORT is a Quebec based company, I will put my honest two cents here if I may.
Dear MakeMeMoney and Skier59, yes you !
As a Quebec based anglo-saxon and polyglot, I’m kinda of feed-up with all this Quebec bashing. With all due respect, I cannot change the way you think but your statement showed your total lack of knowledge of politics, economics and history. If we go back to the founding “territory” which was Upper Canada and Lower Canada, I think that Lower Canada which is where is mostly located the province of Quebec, contributed to this country for many, many decades. If our ancestor wouldn’t have made any effort, you wouldn’t be here. Neither do I. When Newfoundland “joined us”, WE send them a check for many, many decades. Have we said anything about their six decades of deficits? Have we said, let’s throw them out the country because they don’t send us a check ? Finally, they hit big in Labrador and suddenly Newfoundland became an important producer of resources. We now profit from that. Let’s say there is major finds on the Quebec territory within the next 10 – 20 years that we’re awash in oil, natural gas, gold, rare earth and so on. Then Quebec start making surpluses and start sending money that helps other provinces. It happen in the past and it could happen in the future.
I don’t want to start a debate over Quebec staying in Canada or this or that. Just wanted to make my point here. We’re just a bunch of fighting Irish here loving this province, having a good time and making our foreign friend jealous because of our most precious resources here “our beautiful women”.
As far as ORT, just leave it like that. Nothing much will happen before a year. For now, looking at this stock is like looking at the grass grows. That’s life.
Good luck to all
