I'd caution not to get lost in the meaning of the word though. When I say contingency plan, it's likely something in place to keep the companies best interests at heart here, not necessarily the associates.
No company = No job. It's that simple.
It's up to you to have your own personal contingency plan. I'd urge that if you don't have one, my question would be why not? If you don't, I'd get started on that today and urge you to refrain from making that mistake again down the road. The writing has been on the wall for some time now. This should have been better thought out from an organizational standpoint and a personal standpoint.
