RE:RE:A friendly suggestion from dad re: how to avoid the shortsI don't think the term was "no value" - makes no difference to the bokerage as long as it is liquid or they don't have a big interest in the company. From my experience TD won't allow you to short Ballard.  TD will also reject a short trade with the message "no inventory" if they don't have the shares to lend and I've run into this a few times with TD over the last few weeks on TWD. Today though I was able to short TWD at $3.93 through TD (the trick is to put an order in prior to the market opening and pick a high number that you can then change when you see the market direction) and covered this afternoon at $3.71.
