RE:RE: stockpile exceptional diamonds & sell later w prices r high
Hi soxman
If Lucara is a minor/bit player in the diamond world then why did their last exceptional diamond sale exceed analysts estimates by twice the estimated revenue sales? - these analysts  follow the market and auction sales -- I am thinking their (Lucara's) exceptional stones are "exceptional grade"
.
Maybe a recession could  happen in the next  6 months just  after the next exceptional diamond tender ????.. Vegas odds on this anyone???
I am not suggesting they hold back all their exceptional diamonds but a percentage ...
====> new term in diamond industry "forward hedging" There are only so many active diamond mines and many of them are producing fewer and fewer diamonds each year ..lead times to open a new diamond mine are significant .. to minimize any market risks they could negotaite an insurance policy
for the stones they intend to tender in 2015 to 2018     (Lloyd's of London?)
soxman .... it's time to start thinking  beyond  the "box" to maximize shareholder long term value ...
