RE:RE:RE:Locking up your shares / Naked Short SellingI believe regulations were introduced to prevent naked short selling so theoretically while it would be possible to curtail short selling by placing unfillable out of the money GTC orders, from a practical perspective it's unlikely that enough retail investors would get on board to make it an effective impediment.
Shorting regulations - or the shortcomings of them - are another highlight of rigged markets. Short volume information is published bi-monthly to retail investors but broker/dealers can access it daily. The trading advantage offered by the additional transperancy is a huge.
