New Elk Coal Mine scheduled to start mining.......New Elk Coal Mine is scheduled to start mining on Monday May 5th. The mine will mine 1,000 tons with the current employees. The coal will be trucked to Jansen and from there it will be shipped via train to a location in colorado where the coal will go under a burn test. Lets cross our fingers and hope something great comes out of this.
