Q1-Earning Revisions

Q1-Earning RevisionsIn early April I posted my earnings number for COS at 55¢ and at the time the street consensus was 50¢. In checking TD Waterhouse today, consensus earnings have now risen to 57¢.

While I am not a believer in earnings, unfortunately this is what gets reported in the press and seems to affect the stock.  To most of us Cash Flow is king.

I hope that these revisions have not gone too far since a miss of 1¢ often hurts the stock.  Look at CCO today, 1¢ miss.  It's also another way an analyst can hurt the stock by setting the EPS high so that the stock misses.

It will be interesting to see the results tomorrow night.
