RE:RE:What is the purpose of the Bots?Alibongo;
Although Lewis writes his “opus major” in a chatty, breezy style I do not think a cursory one time read of that book allows one to completely grasp the intricacies of HFT or how so completely, exchanges and HFT are joined at the hip. Many reads are required. It’s interesting that Howard Green (BNN) interviewing Larry Summers and raising the subject of HFT, that Summer’s would say it was “a tempest in a teapot,” while later the same day when Green put the same question to Adair Turner that he definitely gave it a failing grade. Unquestionably, the book is a great read and it really begs the question of market stability being compromised, just like what happened in yesterday’s NYSE trading glitch.
