RE:RE:RE:RE:PORBlueCollar: I think that the CEO is the one that takes it on the chin for how a company succeeds or not, as is evidenced by the dismissal of the last CEO.
If the BOD is going to tell the CEO what to do then they are not giving the CEO a mandate to run the company. I don't believe in running a successful company as a democracy. The BOD does not generally analyze intensely and they have the option of passing onto the blame onto fellow members on the Board or management.
So if the BOD takes a pre-emptive decision to guarantee the dividend before the CEO is chosen, I would be concerned for the window dressing. My guess is they will hedge and leave themselves an unquantified backdoor to change their minds. Therefore I think the potential div cut will not be laid to rest on May 8 and the uncertainty stays.
