orders

ordersI was p/o'd at this myself I spent an angry while on the phone wanting to complain to the exchange until I spoke to a senior trader at td.
The orders can fill themselves through their houses and related houses first. IE I place an order from td for 1000 shares and wait nada prie hops around my bid price but I dont fill yet the stock trades.
The system showed I had 100 000 shares in front of my order (bid) when I placed mine and 150 000 shares have traded hands yet I didnt get filled. The seller was canacord, me not getting filled is because the buyer was canacord. If I do get filled its for one of 2 reasons, there was a seller from td or there was not a buyer from the selling house or one of its affiliates.
I was pretty choked to learn this. Then there are people trading on platforms that are faster than most institutions connectiont to the exchange.
little guy gets bones is the end result.
