Story about Raising the roof
Story about Raising the roofDid anybody else have a belly laugh when Ron was telling the story about removing all the equipment so they could expand the mill but then their guiding light of experience suggested cutting holes in the roof saving hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Listen to the story more closely, the one about a great management team. MTO managers requested estimates to remove equipment so they can jack and roll in new equipment (ball washers I believe) for a ridiculous amount of money and labour, removing existing equipment, disconnecting power, instrumentation, PLC communications, mounting assemblies and I digress. Anyone, and I mean anyone who has ever worked at a sizable plant utilizes cranes to land their equipment because they know that's how to install new equipment on a brownfield site.
They wasted significant time bidding out a stupid non engineered idea, then after a compreshesive triple blind procurement process and bid evaluation (I assume) big G walks out to the mill and says.
Pourquoi ne louons pas certains d'entre eux de leurs hélicoptères chinook du gouvernement séparatiste du Québec à juste voler ces choses à billes ici.
I mean use a crane to land the new equipment like every other plant on the planet, who woulda thunk it? Not me says Ron - I approved the bid process adn praise our great management at press conferences for being so wise.
Ron doesn't have to lie to put his foot in his mouth.
