RE:CH6 and surrounding kimberlites-We really don't know what the distribution of diamonds looks like in the diamond stability field. It is fluid mechanics, and trying to define fluid mechanics and diamond distributions from 200km above is impossible and will be beyond scientific explanation for decades to come.

The other major factor is how the kimberlite cools. If the kimberlite takes too long to get to the surface and cool then the diamonds are resorbed (melted). Seeing sharp edges on diamonds tells you that this did not happen and there is a higher chance of macro-diamonds in the kimberlite that diamond came from.

So the kimberlites can sample the same diamond stability field, but the homogeneity of that field is unknown. How the kimberlite cools also affects wether it carries diamonds or not.
