The Funds secondary investment objective is capital appreciation The Fund seeks to achieve its investment objectives by investing at least 80% of its managed assets (i.e., net assets plus assets obtained through leverage) in a portfolio of preferred and other income securities issued by U.S. and non-U.S. companies, which may be either exchange-traded or available over-the-counter. In pursuing its investment objectives, the Fund seeks to achieve favorable after-tax returns for its shareholders by seeking to minimize the U.S. federal income tax consequences on income generated by the Fund. There can be no assurance that the Fund will achieve its investment objectives.

Petroamerica is a microcap that is owned primarily by Canadian retail investors. It has operations in Colombia and is too small (market cap, share price, production) for many investors to own. Growth is a good strategy to get more investor recognition and broaden the base of institutions and big investors that can own the stock. Hegemonic, your argument that the market price must be correct is wrong. If that was the case, then we should all just put our money in index funds. I make a living as a trader & investor in microcaps. I trade microcaps precisely because the market doesn't always price them correctly. I shouldn't even bother trying to trade if the market is "efficient". "Efficient market theory" just doesn't work especially well for tiny microcaps like Petroamerica.
