RE:RE:RE:Whats wrong with the plan?My reaction is that they have introduced a far better risk management approach and a business that is easier to value. They have potentially forgone some unspecified upside from a more extensive patent portfolio but the business reality is that there was no benefit accorded to them from that unknown value anyway and they can always go back there if things change. If the go-forward strategy is to be based on strategic intellectual property marketing partnerships such as with Panasonic, they have protected the downside and bring along a supportive partner for the value add of new markets for both entities. I can imagine the benefit of having the inventor at your side in a patent dispute such as against Apple as this potentially removes the stigma of the patent troll.
I see that this move is based on conviction that there is more value in the existing assets than others were willing to attribute and it remains to be seen if they are right. I'm hanging on for what it's worth.
