Ltd., has completed the infrastructure required to commence distribution of Enpar's CapDI product to strategic end-users within the Indian market and to strategic international partnerships in select regions of Asia and Australia. Enpar and Fontus Water have been working closely for the past year on penetrating India and other selected Asian markets. Fontus has licensed Enpar's CapDI technology and has converted it into a product that can be sold to municipal, industrial and commercial clients throughout India and in other selected markets in Asia. Indian industry suffers from a lack of consistent access to water at an affordable cost. Enpar's CapDI solution is an ideal fit and can complement other traditional solutions like reverse osmosis. Established in the 2000, Fontus Water Pvt. Ltd. offers complete water and waste water management solutions to the institutional, industrial and rural water markets. As a member of the Earth Water Group, Fontus Water is one of India's fastest growing water solutions providers with over 2,000 installations, deep local roots (across 36 cities throughout India) and a wide portfolio of customers (from automotive to power to commercial buildings). Speaking of the Indian scenario and Fontus's endeavour, Sunil Ghorawat, managing director for Fontus Water, stated: "Customers in India are actively looking for solutions that have higher water recovery, lower energy needs and are available at price points competitive with RO. We believe we can deliver that solution with Enpar's CapDI product. By doing so, Enpar's CapDI product has the potential to take a significant share of the half-billion-dollar water treatment market which exists in India alone." For its initial deployment Fontus is in the process of establishing pilot test units at six locations, four of which are in India, for applications ranging from industrial waste water recycle to municipal water treatment for drinking applications. A strategic objective of establishing the pilot testing in India is to tap into the huge potential customer base in the South Asia/Southeast Asia/APAC regions. The growing need for clean water coupled with diminishing water sources in the region demand an immediate and urgent solution that addresses recycle/reuse issues. In addition, tightening regulatory controls necessitate cost-effective treatment for waste water discharge. While several potential markets have been identified for end use of the CapDI units in India itself, the immediate focus for Fontus will be in the areas of industrial water treatment (cooling tower blowdown, boiler feed water, semiconductor process waste) and municipal water treatment (arsenic removal, nitrate removal, fluoride removal). For the long term, the range of applications for the CapDI units can be extended to include a broader range of brackish water applications including RO reject recycling for higher water recovery and metal removal from waste streams originating from the metal plating industry. Dr. Gene Shelp, president and chief executive officer of Enpar, commented: "Management and the board of directors of Enpar believe that this initial deployment of the CapDI product will greatly enhance Enpar's ability to gain traction in the Asian water market. This is consistent with Enpar's strategy to leverage Enpar's core technologies and work with leading distribution partners to develop products for the marketplace. Enpar looks forward to further developing a mutually beneficial relationship with Fontus Water, an industry leader in the water sector, and developing many commercial-scale sales opportunities in the near future."
