I personally have never thought that Fabrice was  too bright. What makes him an expert on equities? He has been a journalist the vast majority of his career. I remember when he wrote for the G&M he was positive on Fairfax FInancial. The stock then took a big hit because what was later turned out to be false rumours by hedge founds and Fabrice became negative on the stock right near the bottom. I suspect that is what happens here (Fabrice telling people to sell at the worst possible time). However, Caveat Emptor make your own decisions and consult with your advisor.
