RE:RE:RE:How much of the debt does BAJ own? That may be what happens in 2019. But for now, I'm not worrying about what may or may not happen 5 years from now. For now, the financing that BAJ has arranged is encouraging. and guarantees that the mine construction and start-up will be completed- that's the next milestone, and it's guaranteed, so that's great news. I may not be a shareholder in 2019 when all this financing comes to a head. Make money when there's money to be made, and now is the time.
$1.8 Billion sounds like a lot of money, but honestly the cost of building a mine has ballooned in the last decade as well. 1.8B$ for a mine that produces 3 commodities, and possibly 4 (with manganese as a credit) is very reasonable. In the last few years I've been involved in a greenfield job $6B, a retrofit to an existing plant $2.5B (just to help the plant meet new environmental guidelines), and a $3B expansion of an existing plant. $1.8B is not bad. In fact, if I'd have known about this job when it started, and they told me it'll cost 900M$ I'd have said no way, not possible for everything they're claiming to do there.
