Southern Pacific Resource Corp. is a Canada-based company, which is engaged in the thermal production of heavy oil in Senlac, Saskatchewan on a property known as STP-Senlac, and thermal production of bitumen on a property located in the Athabasca region of Alberta known as STP-McKay, as well as exploration for and development of in-situ oil sands in the Athabasca region of Alberta. Its STP-McKay property consists of oil sands leases totaling approximately 37,760 acres. The Company’s operations also include Anzac, Hangingstone and Ells. The Company’s STP-McKay property is located approximately 45 kilometers northwest Ft. McMurray. The Anzac project covers approximately 117 kilometers of two-dimensional (2D) seismic. The Company owns 80% interest in Hangingstone project. The Ells project covers approximately 164 kilometers of two-dimensional (2D) seismic.

But what is so special about 2P5, they already have the approval of two other well pairs that they could have easily installed already - so why is 2P5 the deciding factor?  And why did they choose to request a calendar Q3 installation date instead of Q2? The other 4 ICD applications were requested for immediate installation and approval was given.  That's the part that baffles me?  If a potential suitor said hey we want to see 2P5's results using an ICD, then why are they deciding to wait between 2-5 months to do that?  I just find it hard to believe that any company would come in and say hey we're interested in your company but we don't want to see what you can do until a  few months down the road, but make sure you don't do anything to increase production until then, in fact forget the aer approvals and the money that you have in the bank to do this, and just sit on the production until sometime between July and September and then we'll make our decision.
