RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Who is going to be the Hero?Winny: Maybe management has a good offer on the table that is of high interest to them in the short-term future. Maybe they see a short window of opportunity that may not present itself if s**t hits the fan down in Ecuador.
We do not like to admit it but the political situation is more and more uncertain. Perhaps management wants to sell before the political situation becomes a bargaining chip for the buyers.
So do you decide to sell now at $1.25/share or do you wait 18-24 months and hope to get $2.50/share? Politic is complicated and always takes a very long time to sort itself out. If the native tribes want to make a big deal out of it, it could last years.
The question is, would you retire now with $20 million or do you want to commit to another 2, 5, 10 years and retire with $40 millions? Keep in mind that retirement doesnt keep you from putting your money to work somewhere else.
No matter what the political climate is like, I am confident that there will always be a buyer. The Chinese see the big picture and I'm sure their strategy is long term: accumulating reserves for the decades to come. They can buy now and wait out any policital crisis.
Nothing too serious here, just my 2 cents.
