RE:RE:SGL moving up nicely this AM
I trade this stock from time to time. This stock is range bound with negative bias till the company gets its act together. In the meantime the only way to make money is by trading it.

This company has a very high NAV compared to the current share price & if someone takes out the company it should be at much higher price. The existing large shareholders own the stock at much higher cost price so they would not be interested at the present trading range. The dividend yield at the current prices is very rich.

Takeover of this company at higher prices is possible but short sellers are not buying it for short term.

I do not think that this stock is being capped by someone to suppress the share price for a takeover. However short sellers’ interest is served when the stock is under pressure, capped or finds resistance. This is not a very liquid stock. It has a very small float the price erosion is a result of very poor execution by the company, frustrated sellers & short sellers.

You also have broker #88 trading the stock along with few other retail traders. If there were no traders the volume would be even smaller.

I could not believe the amount of praise for the staff in last general meeting when the execution is so poor & the share price is in the toilet. Production issues & oil leak ? There is a disconnection with the reality. Give the pep talk to the staff in private meetings. Fire & reduce the deadwood. Sincerly acknowledge the pain of longer term share holder who are underwater big time & the short coming in their execution & provide a convincing road map.

The short position is constantly going up. I was very surprised that it had increased by 771100 shares in two weeks in the last report. The total short position is only 4.40 % of the total outstanding shares but shorting an illiquid stock so aggressively (771100) @ average price of $1.747 is risky because short covering in a short squeeze could result in big pop in share price. Short sellers around $1.74 would be expecting a sharp drop in share price. Short sellers are not allows right. But you cannot ignore the fact that someone has shorted 771100 shares around $1.747 & is also paying a dividend of $.0225 per month. This means that their cost price has a negative impact every month irrespective of movement of share price.

In other to make money you have to be very objective. Take the negatives & weaknesses of the company seriously & then take a calculated risk. Not blind faith.
