RE:A New North American Shale Oil Champion
RE:A New North American Shale Oil Champion
I suspect that OilEng has moved on, his analysis was always amazing, but nobody could foresee Clayton's decision. Shareholders never get the full picture, but rather than assume the worst (a decision based on his greed), I'm wondering if there's bad news ahead on the regulatory front?
HSE has cancelled their fracking plans for this coming winter, COP as well.

Devolution could be a double-edged sword, it has the potential to cut through BS and allow for more rapid development, or create a great deal more red-tape through neverending consultations. Ramsay had an interesting note earlier this week on fracking in the area: https://news.exec.gov.nt.ca/david-ramsay-hydraulic-fracturing-regulations/
I look at the trapped gas up north as an example of what could happen as a result of the described process/intent. Devolution created uncertainty, and that's bad news for us when funds are low. Majors can afford to anchor when a storm approaches, we need a harbour.
I like to hope the unusual volume is a third-party, but I suspect I'll be seeing POU in my account soon. I feel bad for Bill, he did his homework and knew what he was (technically) buying into, but that's only part of the picture.
