Could Allied Nevada Gold Corp. Be up for Sale?

ANV is a classic high cost producer play.

If the POG really is going to rise then no doubt ANV will also rise. Just look at the run from January to March when POG was showing positive signs.  Sure the PFS shifted valuation points but the overall trend is still going to hold.  If POG rises then ANV bottom line net will improve much quicker htan for say an AEM or GG.

But if POG drops to say $1150 then ANV will likely set new lows as their all in costs are now looking to be roughly $1300 depending on how you want to average ($1281 more recent quarter).

A deep pocket major with a long term view could easily pickup off ANV -- my bet is on GoldCorp making a cash and share offer. Goldcorp missed on Osisko (went for a huge premium IMO) and has just raised a $1B via debt market.  The ANV projects in Nevada plus a producing mine are extremely attractive IMO.  And if POG continues to bump upwards or atleast stays sideways, then ANV is an excellent play.

But what will the POG do in the next week/month/quarter. That is the question IMO.
