Buy low sell high. If everything was perfect we'd be at 52 week highs and I'd be a seller not a buyer. If you want a stock where everything is going great and everything is perfect, you can go buy Whitecap at 52 week highs and stupidly high valuations. I don't buy a 52 week high. I buy when people are crying about their losses and all they can think about and point out is the negative. That's when you put some original thought into it, put some analysis of your own into it, and come to the conclusion that this thing is undervalued and I'm going to ignore the crying and buy anyway. My analysis says its undervalued. Production, oil weighting, NPV, etc. Undervalued. The questionmarks are reasons why this isn't and won't be a $6 stock like it probably would be using Whitecap's valuation. This will not get a valuation like that any time soon. But take some conservative figures and you easily get $2.50. $2.50 and a 10% yield while I wait is fine for me.
