Interview with CEO of CISCO John T. Chambers

Interview with CEO of CISCO John T. ChambersI just saw an interview with John Chambers who answered questions on why CISCO had entered the fiber optics market even with such strong competitors as Nortel, and Lucent. He said that customers are going to want to go to one supplier for all their communication needs, as he wants to CISCO to be that supplier of all the steps in the chain. It convinces me even more that there is a good chance that WIN will not be a stand alone company in 2 or 3 years, unless they can develop a revenue model like QUALCOMM where a large part of their revenue comes from licensing their intellectual property. If WIN doesn't find success doing this, I can see WIN being bought by a larger player who can offer a customer a complete solution to their communication needs.
