Interview Summary

Interview Summary
  • There is phenomenal growth in this industry, today worth $15 Billion globally and growing @ 20% per year
  • Analog technology is dropping off while HD sales are increasing at a rate of 50% per year
  • "Very well positioned to exceed our $500 million per year goal"
  • Good Interview.  Patrick Horan, the analyst who believes AVO may be a 5-6 bagger did part of the interview.
  • CEO Fernandes says the mood at the AGM was very good and pointed out that the stock has had a 500% return since going public 2 1/2 years ago at $4.50.
  • Future is very bright
  • AVO is "not feeling price pressure"; gross margins, EBITDA & bottom line is growing
  • Axis, a competitor on some level but also a partner however, has had a tough time over the past year.  Axis sells components, Asian manufacturers are entering the market and Axis is feeling price pressure.
  • Regarding employee turnover, it is a balancing act to get people to drive things forward to continue getting 100% returns.  Turnover is healthy and the company is adding far more than are leaving.  There were 8 additions to the executive team vs. 3 departures.  Staff has grown to 600 vs 200 not long ago.
  • The culture is very entrepreneurial, not just about money - if customers are taken care of the money follows.
