If you'd ever driven thru Rodgers Pass on hiway 1 you would have seen the gun placements used to bring down unstable avalanches. If you'd ever mined in the Revelstoke area you also would have seen the power of these natural events, and had to take the necessary precautions to protect your mining crews. You might also have been told by the local BC Mines Inspector to hire a local avalanche expert to provide advice on a particularily treacherous piece of mountain terrain. If you'd ever worked with the old timers who worked at Scottie Gold , you might have learnt what conditions are really like NW of Smithers. Have you ever been to Smithers ?? I kinda liked the place myself. So yes , I guess I am at least knowledgeable , if not an expert.
