WHAT IS GONG ON HERE? IS LB PLAYING CATCH UP THE OTHER BANK

Can someone out there please let me know what is driving LB to higher levels. LB did not perform when the other Canadian banks were on a roll, so perhaps now LB is taking it's turn.
I bought LB ages ago thinking that at some point there would be an amalgamation or consolidation of some Canadian banks, i.e. could National swallow Laurentian? but I do not think Ottawa would allow that to happen..
