Spdr S&P Oil & Gas Exploration & Production Etf V.XOP.W

Primary Symbol: XOP

The investment seeks to provide investment results that, before fees and expenses, correspond generally to the total return performance of an index derived from the oil and gas exploration and production segment of a U. In seeking to track the performance of the S&P Oil & Gas Exploration & Production Select Industry Index, the fund employs a sampling strategy. It generally invests substantially all, but at least 80%, of its total assets in the securities comprising the index. The index represents the oil and gas exploration and production segment of the S&P Total Market Index (S&P TMI).

RE:XOP has been advertising on Stockhouse since at least XMASAt the AGM, Art was clear that all long range items were handled by Exxon and Exxon were waiting for the right rig to free up to go forward in the block.  I am having some trouble believing that Exxon would not be going forward if their budget is together and approved for this year.  And I am pretty sure that Exxon has deadlines to drill, to maintain their interest.  I do not think this can drag on and on.  However, Exxon is a big company with many different places they are exploring.  So I guess we wil have to be patient.  Personally, I am not expecting an announcement until September, with a drill start in late 2014.  That would still be within months of the original projection.  And ensures Exxon proceeds while approved for all items necessary to drill.  I have read the reports about Exxon looking for a partner, but I have not seen anybody post anything here that corroborates that speculation.  We are talking about a multimillion dollar expenditure by Exxon.  A few months delay is not a big deal.
