Nail on Goldendream! I personally thought this stock as a slam dunk, easy 30 - 50 % increase in a short period. WOuld have walked, and moved on to stock, but now waiting with dead money (or to sell at a loss). Obvisouly, bought in at a wrong time.

The power of compund interest is an amazing thing...if you find a stock every week (or a day) where your investment provides 10-20%, you do not have to do this for very long unitl you can retire.

On the flipside, once in a while you invest in stocks like APP where the SP refuses to go up despite all good signs; at that point selling at a loss depends on how far you drifted from the original price you paid...if you drifted too far, and there is still light in the end of the tunnel, may as well hold onto your stock (which I am currently doing with APP). If you did not sink too low, sell at loss, so you get your money to invest in stocks that actully move at 10 - 20 % increments in a short period of time.

It is all about compounding, unless you are doing somekind of a retirement saving where you can put in the time and wait for a 5bagger or more with stocks that have good fundamentals, like is currently the case for APP  (but, in my opinion for long term investment,  investing in stock indices in a couch potato style will suffice with no associated  risk).
