Great find FarmaZ!  This could indeed put added pressure on AbbVie's TRT revenues.  I knew generics were coming soon for AbbVie's Androgel 1% but generics also have to be approved - as this one now has been.

A generic must be the same as a brand name drug in dosage, safety, strength, how it is taken, quality, performance and intended use.  Perrigo could compete directly with Androgel 1%, and in many cases may be substituted at the pharmacy at the request of insurance companies and other third party payers.  I do not believe higher dose Androgel 1.62% is affected.
