RE:RE:Diana . . .
RE:RE:Diana . . .I hear ya girl. Wifeee and I built our own ranch home ourselves on 50 acres right from the tree. Cleared our own land by hand. Landscaped and created our own vegetable organic gardens and meat comes from wild game which I harvest. She was a city girl however trying to get her to move back would be impossilbe. Wife gets ill when eating domesticated beef and drinking ordinary milk but can drink organic milk without any affects. We also have our own good ground water supply which 80% of the time is plenty with good quality but have to rely on our holding tank in droughts.......
That being said I will take this life style to the grave
Having good water is important. I know that anyone can drill a well near quarter mile away, a road can drain a pond or a neighbour cand dig a ditch and all of this can affect ones well. Nothing is guaranteed when it comes to country living.
I sympathize when one has a company drilling or blasting at close quarters. This will affect ground water supplies and companies should be held accountable for their actions, however this can be hard to prove.....
In my situation I have developers clearing large acreages of land only a 45 minute walk from my place as the city moves forever closer. Will this affect the water table....you betcha. One can only try and keep voicing their concerns but one also needs the backing of neighbours and the surrounding community.......
Much of the younger generation today and those that have been spoon fed from the house of plenty don't seem to quite grasp all of this. Lord only knows how they would cope if there was even a sudden mild catastrophe...
Good luck to you.
