https://seekingalpha.com/article/2369515-update-centerra-gold-earnings-negative-but-dividend-declared-country-issues-linger

Summary

  • Centerra Gold reported Q2 earnings on July 30.
  • As anticipated negotiations with the Kyrgis government are ongoing; confirming our stated concerns with regards to Stans Energy enforcing its compensation from the Kyrgyz government.
  • High costs resulted in negative cash flow for the Kumtor mine.
  • A C$0.04 quarterly dividend was declared.

Centerra Gold (OTCPK:CAGDF) released the financial report for the second 2014 quarter on July 30, available from SEDAR. As part of the presentation the company reported on ongoing negotiations with the Kyrgyz government with regards to the proposed re-structuring of the Kumtor operations (see article here), as well as the various environmental claims made against Centerra Gold by its host country. No conclusions have been reached which keeps the door open for Stans Energy (OTCQX:HREEF) to potentially cease shares of the company as explained in our original article. Country risk abounds for this gold miner as explained in this article here.
