RE:Mount Polley: Golbe and Mail video of destructionThis Video is amazing.  The distruction is unreal.  The sad part is that if the area gets any more rain, the tailings will continue to wash out the breach.  I am amazed that this could happen in North America, let alone Canada.  For a similar situation, look up Heclas Grouse Creek in Idaho.  It has yet to breach, and doesn't have many tailings (bad ore model killed this thing and bad model didn't show until mining began), but the whole dam has filled with run off and a tailings dam isn't designed to hold water, it is designed to have the area fill up with tailings and add to the structural integrity.
