Mounting Evidence in favour of EOM

Mounting Evidence in favour of EOMGreat post as usual sailor8.

it is worth reviewing the mountain of facts favouring EOM.

- the comprehensive report concluding that Angostura is not Paramo.
- the intervention of the World Bank,
- the recent meetings with the Canadian trade delegation pursuant to the FTA,
- the layoff of over 1000 workers by the mining companies,
- the invasion of illegal miners with the uncontrolled use of mercury and cyanide,
- the increasing pressure by state and local officials to resolve unemployment and eliminate uncertainty,
- the unhappiness of state and local government at the indecisiveness of the federal government,
- the sacking of the last of a long line of bleeding heart Environment ministers with a purely environmental agenda with closed minds regarding sustainable development and modern mining techniques.

I could go on, but the incompetence in the environment ministry has contributed the gross unemployment and the influx of out of town illegal miners capitalizing on this lack of leadership. All the forgoing factors contribute to a situation that favours EOM. Surely the most hardened environmentalist has to be alarmed at what is happening now.

The Government is now faced with doing the right thing by EOM. Failure to do so will result in a serious and potentially expensive legal challenge, more local opposition and a second wave of illegal miners.

Interesting times are ahead and I am happy to be in the position I find myself. GLTA.
